Mr. Varner, founder and president of Sovereign Risk Solutions, has responsibility for strategic direction, client relations and leadership initiatives. From 1987 through 1992, he held various property/liability marketing and client service positions with a leading global brokerage firm—in both its San Francisco and Atlanta offices. In 1992 he joined what became Georgia’s largest privately held insurance brokerage firm, where he continued to refine his industry knowledge and client service skills. Mr. Varner was the firm’s leading sales professional in 2001, having personally stewarded the firm’s service deliverables to Fortune 500 and major real estate clients. After 11 years he joined the nation’s largest privately owned brokerage firm, as executive vice president to open their Atlanta office. After a few years Mr. Varner was motivated to start a boutique, privately-owned brokerage firm, focused on the highest ethical and professional standards, which led to the establishment of Sovereign Risk Solutions. Ms. Kelley began her administrative career while working for an S&P 500 company in Florida. After moving to the Atlanta area, Shawn left the large corporate atmosphere to focus on administrative management of a local family business.
With over 20 years of experience in managing numerous functions of a business Shawn joined Sovereign Risk Solutions in 2009 as the Office Administrator.
Now as the Chief Administrative Officer, she is responsible for the overall administrative management of the company, including Human Resources, Accounting, Payroll, developing and implementing budget and financial reports. Full biography.
Taylor joined the Sovereign team in October of 2007 as a Client Associate where he provided daily service deliverables to our transportation clientele. Taylor was promoted to Transportation Division Manager in the Spring of 2012 whereby he manages the day-to-day operations of Sovereign’s Transportation Team, while working closely with the sales team to ensure the highest quality of service is provided to all clients.
Taylor personally stewards service deliverables to our largest clients where his responsibilities include gathering all necessary information for policy renewals, submitting client information to underwriting markets, reviewing insurance quotations, preparing proposals, binding, and servicing policies throughout the year. Continuing to building strong personal relationships with clients is one of the greatest rewards Taylor enjoys about his career at Sovereign.
When Taylor is not in the office he enjoys spending time in the gym, playing golf, watching college football and spending time with his family.
